Good Shepherd’s Lymphedema program provides much needed specialty services to women with the diagnosis of lymphedema who generally suffer from increased swelling in their limbs, neck, face or abdomen. The program also provides treatments to reduce or eliminate the sequela that develop as a result of swelling. This may include treatments to improve movement, strength, ambulation, functions related to daily activities and others.
Anything else you would like to expand on?
The funds that have been donated to the lymphedema program through the Women’s 5K have been crucial in providing the much needed services and garments in order to manage and maintain their lymphedema. Due to the increased costs of healthcare and garments, it allows services to be provided for patients who may have otherwise been unable to receive.
